Uber Joins the Executive Committee of the World Travel & Tourism Council

Date: 22 June 2026

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is pleased to welcome Uber to its Executive Committee, marking the company’s return to the organisation after previously serving as a Global Member between 2018 and 2021. The move reinforces Uber’s commitment to the global Travel & Tourism sector and signals a strengthened role in helping shape the industry’s future.

Founded in 2010, Uber has grown into one of the world’s leading technology platforms for mobility and delivery, operating in over 15,000 of cities across more than 70 countries on  six continents. Uber connects millions of people with drivers, couriers, and local businesses, playing a key role in shaping how people move and access services globally.

As a key player in the travel ecosystem, Uber provides mobility solutions that enhance the traveller journey, from airport transfers to in-destination transport, helping connect visitors with local communities and experiences.

The company continues to invest in innovation, including electrification, multimodal transport options, and partnerships that support more sustainable and efficient urban mobility – Uber is now the most widely-available platform for Electric Vehicle rides in the world.

Earlier this year, Uber also announced a partnership with Expedia Group that gives Uber users in the US access to over 700,000 hotels worldwide, which they can book directly in the Uber app. Uber One members earn 10% back in Uber One credits on all hotel’s bookings. The partnership is expected to expand beyond the U.S.

Gloria Guevara, WTTC President & CEO, said:
We are delighted to welcome Uber to WTTC’s Executive Committee. As a global leader in mobility and technology, Uber plays a vital role in the travel ecosystem. Their return to WTTC further strengthens our global membership and brings valuable perspective and leadership to our work as we shape a more connected and sustainable future for Travel & Tourism.”

Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, said:
Travel is in Uber’s DNA. For millions of people around the world, Uber is one of the first apps they open when they arrive in a new city. We’re proud to join the World Travel & Tourism Council and collaborate with industry leaders to help shape the future of travel. Together, we can help make travel more seamless and connected, so people can spend more time enjoying the experiences that matter.”

By joining WTTC’s Executive Committee, Uber will contribute to shaping the Council’s global agenda, supporting initiatives around sustainability, innovation, and the evolution of seamless travel experiences worldwide.

About Uber

Uber’s mission is to create opportunity through movement. We started in 2010 to solve a simple problem: how do you get access to a ride at the touch of a button? More than 75 billion trips later, we're building products to get people closer to where they want to be. By changing how people, food, and things move through cities, Uber is a platform that opens up the world to new possibilities.
