The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is pleased to welcome Mandarin Oriental back to its Executive Committee, building on a longstanding relationship that saw the Group serve as an Executive Committee Member for more than 25 years previously. Its return reinforces Mandarin Oriental’s commitment to the global Travel & Tourism sector and reflects a shared ambition to help shape the future of the industry through closer collaboration and leadership within WTTC’s global community.
Mandarin Oriental’s history stretches back more than six decades and traces its origins to two of Asia’s most iconic hotels, The Mandarin in Hong Kong and The Oriental in Bangkok, whose names came together to create one of the world’s most prestigious luxury hospitality brands. Today, the Group is recognised globally for its exceptional service, distinctive design and oriental heritage.
Mandarin Oriental currently operates 47 hotels, 16 residences and 44 exceptional homes across 30 countries and territories, with ambitious plans to expand to 100 hotels worldwide by 2033. Having evolved from its Asian roots into a truly global luxury hospitality leader, the Group continues to grow across gateway cities, resort destinations and emerging markets, while maintaining its reputation for delivering exceptional guest experiences and setting benchmarks for excellence across the sector. WTTC looks forward to supporting this next phase of growth through its global network of industry leaders, policymakers, investors and destination partners.
Gloria Guevara, WTTC President & CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome Mandarin Oriental back to WTTC’s Executive Committee. As one of the world’s most respected luxury hospitality brands, the Group brings valuable experience and insight to our global community. We look forward to working closely together as Mandarin Oriental continues its global growth journey and to benefiting from its leadership on priorities such as luxury travel, sustainability and exceptional guest experiences.”
Laurent Kleitman, Mandarin Oriental Group Chief Executive, said: “The World Travel and Tourism Council has a unique ability to connect people, cultures and communities. As Mandarin Oriental enters an exciting new chapter of global growth, we are delighted to rejoin WTTC’s Executive Committee and contribute to shaping the future of our industry. We share a commitment to responsible growth, meaningful collaboration and creating lasting value for the destinations and communities in which we operate. Above all, we believe the future of luxury hospitality lies in exceptional experiences that foster human connections.”
