Climate Week NYC
21 September 2022
Venue: Javits Center
Session: Main Stage at The Nest Summit Campus
While there has recently been unprecedented global momentum around climate change and decarbonisation, biodiversity loss and nature protection continue to be widely disconnected from most conversations. Yet, the world’s leading biodiversity and climate experts acknowledge that biodiversity loss and climate change mutually reinforce each other and are being driven by the same human activities, hence they can only be tackled together.
In September 2022, world leaders gathered in Montreal for the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP15) to adopt the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. The speakers in this session aimed to address how Travel & Tourism can fulfil its potential as a key nature positive sector and thereby lead the way to achieve the 1.5°C Paris Agreement target.
